Transfer Failed But Funds Were Deducted
You sent a transfer and funds left your wallet, but the recipient never received them.
This guide covers 5 verified steps to resolve "Transfer Failed But Funds Were Deducted". Follow each step in order before moving to the next. If the steps below don't resolve your issue, use the community support options at the bottom of this page.
Find the Transaction Hash
Check your wallet's transaction history for the outgoing transaction. Copy the hash and search it on the block explorer. Look at the actual "To" address — confirm it matches where you intended to send.
Check Transaction Status
If the explorer shows "Failed", the funds were NOT actually sent — they're still in your wallet minus the gas fee. The balance deduction you saw was likely a temporary UI glitch. Refresh your wallet.
Look for Internal Transactions
On Etherscan, click the tx hash → "Internal Transactions" tab. Some transfers route through contracts. Your funds may have arrived at a contract address rather than the end wallet.
Verify Recipient Address
If the tx shows "Success" and the correct address received the funds, but the recipient claims they didn't get it, ask them to check on the block explorer directly — wallet display issues are common.
Wrong Network Transfer
If you sent on the wrong chain, see the "Sent Tokens to Wrong Network" guide. Funds are not lost if both addresses are EVM-compatible — they exist on the other chain.
