Lost Wallet Access After App Update
After updating your wallet app, you're being asked to restore your wallet as if it's a fresh install.
This guide covers 4 verified steps to resolve "Lost Wallet Access After App Update". Follow each step in order before moving to the next. If the steps below don't resolve your issue, use the community support options at the bottom of this page.
This Is Normal — Your Funds Are Safe
Some app updates wipe local data as part of a fresh install, requiring you to re-import your wallet. Your funds are on the blockchain, not inside the app. The app is just a key to access them.
Restore Using Your Seed Phrase
Open the app → select "Import Existing Wallet" or "Restore Wallet" → enter your 12 or 24-word seed phrase in the correct order. Your wallet and all its assets will reappear.
Re-Add Custom Networks and Tokens
After restoring, your custom RPC networks and imported token contracts may need to be re-added. These are stored locally, not on the blockchain. Use Chainlist.org for networks and CoinGecko for token contract addresses.
If You Don't Have Your Seed Phrase
Check all possible backup locations: password managers, cloud drives, email drafts, paper notes, other devices. Without the seed phrase, a wiped wallet cannot be recovered.
